Anthony Gaetan Buttigieg, B.A. (Hons), LL.B, T.E.P.
Wills & Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Real Estate
Anthony Gaetan Buttigieg has been practicing law since graduating from the University of Ottawa law school in 1987. He also holds a four-year honours bachelor’s degree in geography and planning from the same university.
While at Ottawa U, Gaetan served as the Articles Editor for the Ottawa Law Review, as a volunteer with the Ottawa Law Information Line, and as a caseworker with the University of Ottawa Legal Aid Society. He also participated in the Moot Court Program and provided continuing legal education service, preparing and delivering seminars to the public on how to access legal services. Immediately after law school, Gaetan began his career in Toronto with a large Bay Street firm comprised of 80 lawyers where he focused on wills and estates, corporate, commercial, and real estate law.
Gaetan returned to Ottawa in 1996. Originally a full-service private practice, AGB Lawyers now concentrates on Family Law and Estate Law, with the idea of providing personalized service to all the firm’s clients. Today, AGBL is known for using a client-focused, holistic approach that recognizes both the business and personal aspects of clients’ legal needs.

- Involved with several local chambers of commerce and business-networking organizations, including a group for owners of small businesses where he served a term as president
- Frequent speaker at legal information seminars aimed at seniors and others focusing on topics such as family law, wills and estates, real estate, and small business start-up
- Three times nominated for the Nepean Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year Award (2010, 2011, and 2012)

Yvonna Conte, B.A., J.D.
Managing Lawyer, Family Law, Real Estate & Estates
Yvonna advocates passionately for her clients in family, estate, and real estate law, and is driven to achieve the best possible outcome.
As a family lawyer, Yvonna assists clients with drafting and negotiating Marriage Contracts and Separation Agreements, helps clients navigate property division, child and spousal support claims, and custody and access matters. As an estate lawyer, Yvonna helps clients with all matters relating to estate planning and administration. In real estate matters, her experience as a mortgage broker offers a unique advantage as she helps clients maneuver the often complex world of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and refinances.
Yvonna approaches every situation holistically, looking at the big picture throughout the process. She treats each client with compassion and respect to ensure that they feel understood and heard.
Yvonna speaks Russian fluently and is happy to assist her clients in either Russian or English.
Yvonna earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa. She received a Bachelor’s Degree with honours in Law and Society from York University.
Outside of work, Yvonna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, her two cats, reading, and watching reality television.

Lena Pen, B.A., LL.B, and LLM
Associate Lawyer, Family Law, Real Estate & Estates
Lena joined the AGB Lawyers team in 2023. Following the completion of her Articling term, she is now welcomed back to the firm as an Associate Lawyer.
As an Associate Lawyer, Lena practices in all areas of Family Law, Estate Law and Real Estate Law including issues related to divorce, financial resolution and division of property, decision-making and parenting issues, child and spousal support, alternative dispute resolution and domestic contracts such as cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts. As an estate lawyer, she is able to assist clients with all matters relating to estate planning and administration. Lena is passionate about advocating for her clients by understanding their unique needs and provides efficient and compassionate assistance regarding their matter.
Lena earned her Master of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University and graduated with an LLB from Queen Mary University of London where she volunteered at the Legal Advice Clinic providing free legal advice services on various cases encompassing landlord and tenant matters, contract cases, consumer issues, and court procedure queries to vulnerable members of the public.
Lena speaks Russian fluently and is happy to assist clients in either Russian or English.
In her spare time, Lena enjoys traveling, learning new recipes, building her coin collection and spending time with friends and family.
Emilie Eydt, L.LL and J.D.
Associate Lawyer/Family Law Mediator, Family Law and Estates
Emilie Eydt obtained a Civil Law degree (LL.L.) in 2016 and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2017 from the University of Ottawa. Emilie is fluently bilingual and is pleased to offer services in both official languages (English and French).
As a family law lawyer and mediator, Emilie brings a client-centered and common-sense approach to her practice, which is focused on achieving fair, sustainable and comprehensive settlements. Emilie is detail oriented in her work and attentive to her client’s needs to ensure that all clients feel properly informed throughout every step of their life’s transition.
As an estates lawyer, Emilie assists clients with all their estate planning needs.
Outside of work, Emilie enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling and spending quality time with her family.

Kelly Mann
Law Clerk/Paralegal, Family Law and Estates
Kelly Mann has worked in the legal field since 2009, with a focus on family law. She graduated from the Law Clerk program at St. Lawrence College in 2009, and later completed the Paralegal program at Fanshawe College in 2018. That same year, she successfully wrote the Law Society of Ontario’s paralegal licensing exam and became a licensed paralegal. Kelly is also a Notary Public in the province of Ontario. She is recently completed the Family Law Service Provider (FLSP) program at Fanshawe College and will be writing the Law Society of Ontario exam in June 2025, continuing to expand her ability to assist clients more directly in family law matters.
At AGB Lawyers, Kelly supports clients and legal professionals by managing files, preparing court documents, and assisting with cases involving separation, divorce, custody, support, and estates. She takes a practical and supportive approach, helping clients feel informed and comfortable throughout the legal process.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs.

Aleksandra Selvechyk
Office Manager & Client Relations
With a natural talent for organization and a genuine passion for helping others, Aleksandra serves as the Office Manager and Client Relations Coordinator at the firm. She plays a central role in keeping the office running smoothly, overseeing daily operations, coordinating communications, and ensuring that every client interaction is handled with professionalism and care. She is dedicated to creating a welcoming, responsive, and efficient experience for clients during what can often be stressful times.
In addition to managing administrative systems and supporting the legal team, Aleksandra takes pride in building strong client relationships. She ensures that clients feel informed, supported, and valued throughout their legal journey. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence help maintain the firm’s high standards of service.
Outside the office, Aleksandra is a devoted wife and mother who brings the same energy to her personal life. She has a true passion for entertaining and finds joy in hosting memorable gatherings for family and friends. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or a lively celebration, she loves crafting thoughtful experiences that bring people together, an extension of the warmth and care she shows both at home and at work.
Faye Hecht
Articling Student
Faye is an Articling Student at AGB Lawyers, having first joined the firm in 2022. She recently earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, having previously completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Faye has a strong interest in family law and youth justice. Her commitment to strengthening family dynamics drives her to advocate for practical, supportive legal solutions tailored to every family unit.
Beyond her legal work, Faye is dedicated to community service. She is a recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Volunteer Service Award, has coached local basketball programs and served as a Mentor with Youth Assisting Youth, empowering young individuals to navigate challenges and reach their potential.
Outside the office, Faye enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and travelling.
